The Tosiba NB205 netbook houses a standard Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, and Microsoft Windows XP Home. The screen consists of a 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600-pixel resolution LED-backlit display. There are two USB ports and a Kensington lock located on the right side; a VGA-out, audio in/out, Ethernet, and a third USB are mounted on the left. Above the display is a 0.3-megapixel webcam. Its overall size is 10.4 x 7.6 x 1.3 inches and contains a standard six-cell battery with a stated more-than 9 hours of battery life. The netbook weighs in at 2.8 pounds by itself.

| 2/9/2011 10:45:48 AM | This computer runs on Windows 7 Home Premium and is small enough to place on my lap when I'm in my powerchair and I can take it out to my doctor. I can use Windows 7 Home Premium features and enjoy all the work I have to do on the move and feel that I can be as productive on this computer as I do on my HP Compaq NC6400 Windows XP Professional for all of my everyday workhorse computing. While each computer has it's own abilities and features I love them both and this way I'm keeping up with the current technology and since both computers have the same files, pictures and nusic, my HP has all of my XP programs (I have alot) such as Sorry! the board game to relieve tension and stress. The reason I purchased the HP XP this month is because I have a Palm Tungsten E2 PDA and 12 years worth of information in it I just can't afford to lose and at the time I tried to put the Palm Desktop on this netbook and while 7 Starter worked, after installing the Windows upgrade it didn't work with the Palm programs.(Later I tried to reinstall Palm Desktop and it works all but the Palm Quick Install Program which is a compatability problem I'm still working on, so now everything that's on my XP is on my netbook except graphics programs (Print Master, Print Shop. Photo Shop (which is on both of my computers) plus all of the graphics and clip art are on my netbook. These computers are my lifeline and since I can't go "out" shopping, the internet allows me to do comparative shopping for the best product and at the best price, get information (library) through search engines, and keep all of this information instantaneous amd at my fingertips.So, these computers are a necessity for me. I don't do gaming except Monopoly, Sorry! and solitaire but these computers are helping me to do things I can't do by going out, banking, medical research, shopping, ect. So I have to have these computers (like taking medication mmmand eating food sustains life),to make my life easier for me everyday.I create alot of medical and financial information that I and others depend on and using MS Office Home & Student "2007" for spread sheets and word documents along with Documents To Go that translates them to my Palm PDA and not having these computers would make these tasks impossible. |

| 9/4/2010 6:13:34 PM | Sometimes the screen randomly goes blank. Sometimes it blanks to a full screen of black, sometimes red, and sometimes white. Everything is still responsive, even if I can't see what I'm doing. I found a fix, though. When I hook it up to my tv via vga, one of the screens will work if I have it on the LCD/CRT setting. If it's LCD only or CRT only, no picture shows. So weird! Other than that minor random annoyance, I love this thing. |
